MUST READ: 10 Steps for Smooth Wedding Planning

You’ve done your research, you’ve created a Pinterest, you’ve picked up some wedding magazines, you think you’re prepared, but you’re probably not. We’re here to give you tips to help with planning your big day!  STEP 1: Create a NEW email to correspond with your wedding vendors. This will help you keep all of your receipts and inquires separate from your primary email that you’ve had since 5th grade (#bballangel87). It’s a great idea if you and your fiancé or mom, maid of honor, etc. are planning your wedding together. Anyone you need help from can access your wedding email without seeing what you’ve purchased from Amazon 4 years ago. We’ve seen examples such as: bride_groom_lastname@gmail.com, initials_lastname_wedding@gmail.com, etc.  STEP 2: Create a Pinterest if you haven’t already. This will help put all of your ideas in one spot. I shared mine with my mom and bridesmaids so they could see what style I was looking for. They had the option to pin to my board, as well!  STEP 3: Create a Snapchat filter! This is SO COOL! You can create your own Snapchat filter for all of your wedding guests! You can even do this for your bachelorette party, rehearsal dinner or bridal shower! Follow this link for more information: https://www.snapchat.com/geofilters  STEP 4: Create a hashtag for your wedding! Make a sign at your wedding so people know what to hashtag and you can view their photos online before your wedding photos are finished! It will allow you to see how much fun they had when you couldn’t be by each guest’s side all night! You can even document the entire process of your wedding planning if you choose your hashtag early enough! TIP: Make sure...

HAPPY NEW YEAR! 5 Resolutions Deserving Of Commitment

Dec. 31st is a time for reflection and planning into the new year! Here are 5 New Year’s Resolutions to make with your partner in 2016! 5. Leave the work at work and let home be home. Our jobs can stress us out. Try your best to not bring the stresses of work into your home life. As a couple you always want to be supportive of each other. Just make sure when talking about work it’s not becoming a routine vent to your partner. 4. DATE NIGHTS! Making time for one another can be difficult. Try putting a reoccurring event into your calendar! Either weekly, bi-weekly, or maybe monthly. Not only is it fun to spend quality time with your partner outside of the house, but studies have shown that dates help keep your long-term relationship passionate. Plus, who doesn’t want/need a little more passion in their lives? 3. Get Healthy. We’re not talking about going to the gym every day or going on a caveman diet. We’re talking about as a couple changing the way you look at your health. Try with something easy at first. Maybe it’s taking your dog for a walk at night. Possibly cooking together more which excludes the late night drive thru! Maybe you can pick up an activity together such as hiking, skiing, biking, camping, or even just a good ole game of ping pong!   It’s all about setting realistic goals and something you both can enjoy it together. Plus everyone knows working out or changing your diet has a higher success rate when you have someone holing you accountable....

Ten Things Your Photographer Will Never Tell You (But Wishes You Knew!)

                                                        10. You Hired us! Now let us work!!! The best photoshoots are the one where the client 100% let’s the photographer call the shots! When you try to micromanage the session it instantly kills the creative juices. Trust your photographer. We are looking at things that you may not see in the scene. There are reasons for our every setting and position for you.   9. All kids are crazy! Photoshoots are sometimes stressful for people. Especially people who are in charge of the little people! Nothing gets a mom more upset than her child misbehaving during a photo shoot. But here is a little secret…THEY ALL DO! We need them to be a little crazy and most importantly to be themselves! We want that authentic smile and laughter when it appears. Sometimes this takes little more patience but that’s OK! We are ready to handle an hour shoot with 45mins of it being crying. Don’t be upset with your child for acting up because the truth is they all do and we always get the shot.   8. Stop thinking you’re not photogenic. What is being photogenic ? pho-to-gen-ic.adjective 1.(especially of a person) looking attractive in photographs or on film. And going deeper into that – PHOTO means “Light” and GENIC means “produced by”. When you say you are not photogenic you are automatically shutting yourself off an closing yourself off to guidance from us. Let us help you “look attractive”...

Wedding Day Timeline Tip-Off

Everyone warns you how your wedding day will FLY BY. It’s true. I can confirm with all the others that the months you put into planning will feel like a matter of minutes then POOF…it’s over. I know it’s sad for you to hear. The girl reading this right now who is currently planning her wedding. But I have good news for you! I have a few tips into creating a flawless timeline for your wedding day that will help a tad bit with good timing and great flow to your day to make it memorable in all the good ways. Tip #1: THROW IT INTO REVERSE! For best timing you almost have to map out your day in reverse. I usually start with what time dinner is starting. Typically in the wedding industry, dinners are starting at 6:30pm. This then allows your guests to enjoy a cocktail hour (usually from 5pm – 6pm) then be called to their seats (which is seriously like herding cattle) for dinner to actually get started at 6:30pm. I also suggest scheduling your Grand March for 6:00pm. This is the part where you pick a current hit song and the bridal party enters the room doing little embarrassing skits / dances. Typically the Bride and Groom will be introduced last. This is pretty fun because all your guests stand up and cheer for you and you feel like you’re winning a Grammy or something. This is a great opportunity while all eyes are on you to cut the cake or even better to do your first dance right away! I’ve recently been seeing couples doing their first dance right...
