Will you marry me? A sentence that girls dream about, single guys are petrified about, and committed boyfriends have thoughts about. The nerves, pressure, and expectations these days that go into proposals are sky rocket. Pinterest had truly changed the way girls look at not only the dramatic proposals but also the ring expectations. Well I will tell you this proposal and ring did not disappoint for Justin and his future bride Danielle!

I’ve known Justin through the grape vine for years now. Two years ago he invited me to a networking group to help promote C.Mae Design. Now as a member of the Waterford Innovative Networking group Justin and I have worked together many times. Justin is a realtor with ReMax and as a photographer I go with him to take photos of his new listings. So of course when he knew he was going to pop the question he called me to capture the perfect proposal to his girlfriend Danielle.

I truly can’t take any credit for this one. Yes the photos below were captured by me but every detail was planned my Justin. The set up was that he had booked a fall photo session for him and his girlfriend (as weeks prior she had mentioned how she was interested in having photos done). During the session he was going to propose to Danielle. We had even coordinated the exact spot he wanted to ask her.

The property is owned by his parents where they spend much time sledding, hiking, and other fun activities. So in Justin’s eyes, he had the perfect location, the perfect girl, and the perfect ring to seal the deal on this beautiful path were they both share sentimental value to.

The session started off as a usual couples session. We started with some fun poses and drove around the property to look for cool photo opportunities. Justin and I had earlier in the day discussed having a “code pose” which would then mean we both knew when he was going to pop the question. Our code pose was that they were going to walk down a path holding hands so this would give them space for privacy. This was perfect because I wanted them to share this intimate moment without me being on top of them taking photos. I wanted them to 100% be in the moment without the distraction of me snapping away. From the photos you can see that Danielle was truly 100% surprised. This was not the only surprise for Danielle. Justin had coordinated their close family and friends at a near by restaurant where they met the couple to congratulate and celebrate with them!

This was truly a career highlight for me. As a married woman you always remember how your husband asked you this same question. It brings so much emotion to witness and be part of the experience with them as I remember how Mike and the people who helped with our engagement. I am so unbelievably honored to have captured this beautiful moment in Justin and Danielle’s lives. CONGRATS JUSTIN & DANIELLE!
